On March 25, the People's Committee of Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province, announced that it had agreed to the policy of advertising Lam Dong avocado on flights from Vietnam to Korea of Vietnam Airlines (VNA) as proposed by the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province.
Accordingly, Lam Ha District People's Committee proposed to implement the program "Advertising Lam Dong Avocado on flights from Vietnam to Korea" from June to July 2025, which is the peak month for avocado harvesting in the area.
To promote the consumption and export of avocados, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong plans to coordinate with Vietnam Airlines to advertise Lam Dong avocados on flights from Vietnam to Korea. The program is expected to reach about 52 thousand passengers on flights during the program. Vietnam Airlines (VNA) will serve dishes made from “Lam Dong avocado” on flights from Vietnam to Korea. Dishes made from Lam Dong avocado will be labeled “Lam Dong avocado” for users to recognize.
Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade also proposed Lam Ha district to provide about 6 tons of fresh avocado for free so that Vietnam Airlines (VNA) can prepare meals for passengers on flights from Vietnam to Korea for 1 month.
Currently, Lam Dong province has nearly 7 thousand hectares of avocados of all kinds, with an output of about 65 thousand tons/year; of which, Lam Ha district has an area of over 1,200 hectares, Bao Lam district nearly 1,400 hectares, Di Linh district nearly 2,600 hectares. The remaining area is scattered in Da Lat city, Don Duong district, Duc Trong district and Bao Loc city.
