Ministry of Industry and Trade conference to disseminate Electricity Law

On April 4, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long chaired an online conference to disseminate the Electricity Law.

Conference to disseminate the Electricity Law No. 61/2025/QH15 dated November 30, 2024 of the National Assembly and detailed documents implementing the Electricity Law. Accordingly, the Electricity Law was passed by the 15th National Assembly at the 8th Session on November 30, 2024, effective from February 1, 2025, consisting of 9 chapters and 81 articles. The Law has many new, important, breakthrough contents, having a wide impact on the electricity activities of enterprises, investors and management work. Implementing the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1544/QD-TTg; The Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3334/QD-BCT on the Plan to implement the Electricity Law.

As of April 4, 2025, the Government and Ministers have issued 7 decrees and 17 circulars (16 circulars of the Minister of Industry and Trade, 1 circular of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment). The Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies fully comply with the process of drafting legal documents, ensuring the implementation of document drafting principles such as: soliciting opinions from subjects directly affected by the document; closely following the spirit and guiding viewpoints of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister.

At the conference, representatives of units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade discussed the following groups of contents: Planning, investment; new energy, renewable energy; licensing of electricity operations; regulation of electricity market and electricity prices; electrical safety.

The conference aims to disseminate and popularize the Electricity Law to all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people; train and foster professional skills for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers working in the electricity sector; raise awareness and sense of responsibility of people in using electricity after the meter, on electrical safety, ensuring electricity works and complying with the Electricity Law. At the same time, it is an opportunity for relevant agencies, organizations and units to exchange, discuss and better understand the content, meaning and direction of implementing new regulations, in order to bring the regulations into life soon, achieving high efficiency, with the goal of helping agencies, organizations and businesses to implement effectively and in accordance with regulations.
