Binh Duong: FDI attraction in 9 months increased by 23% over the same period

On October 22, providing information on the socio-economic situation in the first 9 months of 2024, the leader of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that by the end of September 2024, the whole province had attracted 1.56 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), reaching 86.7% of the plan, up 23% over the same period last year.

Of which, foreign investors invested in 153 new projects (646 million USD), 126 projects with increased capital (805 million USD), 104 projects with contributed capital (154 million USD), while 11 projects had reduced capital (45 million USD).

Binh Duong province strengthens connections to attract foreign investment

In 2024, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province aims to attract about 1.8 billion USD in foreign investment capital. Of which, industrial parks in the province alone strive to attract 1.2-1.3 billion USD.

With its favorable location and preferential policies and mechanisms, Binh Duong is still creating a strong attraction for investors. Binh Duong province has been and will be implementing many solutions to attract quality foreign investment capital. In particular, the province continues to promote administrative reform, build infrastructure, train high-quality human resources, and create an attractive business environment for investors.

Binh Duong provincial leaders also requested that before granting investment licenses, competent authorities should focus on selecting and assessing the feasibility of projects, assessing the financial capacity and reputation of investors; resolutely rejecting projects that are not of good quality, ineffective, or not in line with the province's orientation.

To facilitate investment attraction, Binh Duong province continues to accelerate, complete procedures, clear land and construct key projects, including transport projects (Ring Road 3, BOT National Highway 13, ...); start construction of Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway; research and establish investment project for Bau Bang - Di An railway line.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, said that the province is focusing on reviewing and removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses; promoting trade promotion activities, expanding export markets, and developing the domestic market to consume products. At the same time, Binh Duong province continues to complete the Project to relocate businesses outside industrial parks and clusters in the South to industrial parks and clusters; and the set of criteria for identifying ecological industrial parks and ecological businesses in the province.
