VnExpressVnExpress27/01/2024

The nearly 300 m2 villa built on aquaculture land in Tan Thanh commune of Mr. Ho An Tap was allowed by the Ca Mau City government to be kept, only the fence had to be demolished.

According to a recently issued decision, the People's Committee of Ca Mau City forced Mr. Tap to "maintain the land status as it was at the time the violation was discovered and carry out land procedures according to regulations within 30 days" for an area of nearly 2,300 square meters, including: the main house, outbuildings, wooden house, tomb house and some miniature landscapes.

This land was determined by the authorities of Ca Mau to be suitable for the land use plan, so the purpose was changed to rural residential land. The project owner had to demolish the fence, returning the original status of an area of about 1,300 m2, because it belonged to technical infrastructure land.

The move was made more than a year after the Ca Mau City government determined that Mr. Tap's villa was built on aquaculture land adjacent to the Quan Lo - Phung Hiep route. The project includes a three-story main building that is about 90% complete, along with a row of houses next to the fence with a construction area of over 339 square meters.

At that time, Mr. Tap was fined 22.5 million VND by the People's Committee of Ca Mau City and forced to restore the original status. However, two months later, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ca Mau issued a document confirming that most of the land area where Mr. Tap's villa was built was allowed to be converted to rural residential land.

The building has a floor area of nearly 300 m2 built on two aquaculture plots of more than 3,300 m2, 32 m wide, nearly 105 m long, adjacent to Quan Lo - Phung Hiep route. Photo: An Minh

According to this agency, based on the land use planning until 2030 of Ca Mau City, Mr. Tap is allowed to change the land use purpose from aquaculture land to rural residential land 70 meters from the curb of Quan Lo - Phung Hiep road inward.

On January 27, Mr. Tap said he was completing procedures to change the purpose of the permitted land to rural residential land. As for the fence, he will comply when the government carries out the procedures according to regulations.
