Prosecuted for illegally exploiting 7.2 cubic meters of sand

(GLO)- On July 28, the Investigation Police Agency of Ben Tre Province Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and apply measures prohibiting him from leaving his place of residence against Tran Tuan Cuong (born in 1998, residing in Tan Xuan commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) for the act of "violating regulations on resource exploitation".

At around 2:00 a.m. on April 23, a working group from the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department (Ben Tre Provincial Police) patrolled the Co Chien River. When they reached the section passing through Cho Lach District, the working group caught Tran Tuan Cuong red-handed while driving a wooden boat illegally mining sand from the riverbed with a volume of sand of 7.2 m3 .

Tran Tuan Cuong listened to the reading of the prosecution decisions and the order prohibiting him from leaving his place of residence.

Previously, for a similar violation, Tran Tuan Cuong was administratively fined 53.2 million VND by the People's Committee of Giong Trom district (Ben Tre province), but has not yet paid the fine.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ben Tre Province Police continues to consolidate the case file to handle Tran Tuan Cuong for violating regulations on resource exploitation.
