The 31-year-old woman discovered that her fiancé of 12 years had cheated on her and decided to cancel the wedding. Instead of being sad, the bride spent 1.2 billion VND to do something that surprised everyone.
Recently, stories about unique weddings have always attracted the attention of netizens. Most recently, there was a story about a girl who decided to cancel her 1.2 billion VND wedding because the groom betrayed her before the wedding day.
Specifically, the 31-year-old female lawyer discovered that her fiancé of 12 years was cheating on her, so she organized a wedding worth 46 thousand USD (about 1.2 billion VND) without a groom.
Lindsay Slater (31 years old, living in Mansfield, Nottingham, England) and her boyfriend have been in love since 2012 and got engaged in 2020.
When she discovered that her future groom was cheating on her with another woman, she was so heartbroken that she immediately broke up with him and planned to cancel the wedding party that cost 46 thousand USD (about 1.2 billion VND).
Having just called off her wedding, the girl decided to do something bold: turn her previously planned wedding party into a bachelorette party.
Determined, Lindsay texted and posted on Facebook to let everyone know. About 70 guests confirmed their attendance for the special party.
"I was heartbroken but it was too late to cancel the wedding. Everything was ready for that day. I thought that now I was free, starting a new and better journey, so I needed to have a party to celebrate this. I was also surprised by everyone's support, I received a lot of care, love and encouragement. Many people texted me that I didn't need to be sad because of that bad man," Lindsay shared more about her decision.
To make the bachelorette party more fun that morning, Lindsay and her sister dressed up beautifully. She still wore her $1,600 wedding dress, while her sister wore a bridesmaid's outfit, holding a sign that read "She will be happily ever after." Lindsay's best friend Melissa drove the two to the party location, a secluded resort.
The party initially started at noon with about 40 guests attending. The guests had a great time eating a buffet, chatting and playing games together. By 8pm when all the guests had arrived, Lindsay held a cocktail party with a DJ until midnight.
"My best friend Melissa encouraged me a lot. My uncle also made beautiful ice cream for the party. The guests, the bartender and even the DJ were very enthusiastic. My sister even gave a congratulatory speech that she composed herself. I would like to thank my family, friends and everyone who supported me through this challenge," Lindsay could not hide her emotions as she recounted.
Not stopping there after the party, this girl even went on a 7-day "honeymoon" at a resort in Crete, Greece, with her best friend Melissa. Her abandoned fiancé has yet to comment on the incident.
Previously, there was also a unique wedding that attracted the attention of many people when the bride suddenly canceled the wedding because she was slapped by the groom.
The bride, a research student from Panruti, and the groom, a senior engineer at a company in Chennai, had decided to tie the knot. However, a day before the wedding, problems arose when the couple and their families attended a party together that had a DJ and a dance floor.
At the wedding, the bride and groom were said to have been dancing together until the bride's cousin joined in. Everything was going smoothly until the cousin put his hands on the bride and groom's shoulders and started dancing with them, which is said to have upset the groom. The groom pushed the bride and her cousin away. The bride's family later claimed that the groom slapped her.
At that moment, the bride’s father was extremely angry that the groom had slapped his daughter and asked him and his family to leave the hall. The bride’s family also supported her decision to cancel the wedding, according to News 18.
