Al Ittihad FC have announced the signing of striker Karim Benzema. The French striker has joined his new club just days after confirming his departure from Real Madrid.
Benzema signed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for another year. Benzema will earn 200 million euros per season, on par with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
" I am excited to experience football in a new country. I have been fortunate to have great success in my career in Spain and Europe. Now is the right time for me to find a new challenge. I look forward to joining my new teammates, and together we will take the club and Saudi Arabian football to new heights ," Benzema said.

Meanwhile, Al Ittihad Club said: " Benzema is the biggest transfer in the club's history. It also marks a big step forward in the journey to make the Saudi Pro League an attractive destination for world stars ."
Benzema has spent 14 years at Real Madrid. The current Ballon d'Or winner has won 25 titles, including five Champions League titles, four La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cups, five Club World Cups and four European Super Cups. Benzema is also Real's second-highest goalscorer in history, with 354 goals.
After Benzema, Al Ittihad is trying to bring in N'golo Kante. They are close to a two-year contract with the 2018 World Cup champion. At the new team, Kante will receive a salary of 100 million euros a year. Kante is entitled to all image rights and personal business.
Messi is also rumored to be moving to Saudi Arabia. A delegation from Al Hilal flew to France to negotiate with Messi's father. They hope to complete the deal as soon as possible to avoid being lured by Barca.
