On the morning of March 15, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan, deputy director of Hue Central Hospital, said that Hue Central Hospital, branch 2 (Phong Dien district) had just received emergency treatment for a case of dog bite.
Accordingly, a little girl in Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) was suddenly attacked by her mother dog while playing with her neighbor's puppies.
The girl was bitten by a dog and suffered multiple wounds on her arms and face, bleeding profusely. Her family used medical alcohol to clean her wounds and took her to the hospital.
The child was taken to Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, and doctors there performed emergency treatment, stitching nearly 50 open wounds on his body.
The doctors also injected the child with tetanus serum and took him to the Thua Thien Hue Center for Disease Control for rabies vaccination.
Currently, the baby is still being treated at Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, with stable health condition.
Doctor Xuan warned parents to pay more attention to their children when playing with animals, especially dogs and cats, because this changing weather is very suitable for rabies outbreaks.
