On the morning of May 27, according to information from District 12 Police (HCMC), the unit has just prepared a file and taken statements from Le Thanh Doan (37 years old, from Hanoi; temporarily residing in District 12, HCMC) to handle the crime of human trafficking, trafficking of people under 16 years old and illegal detention.
Previously, the Criminal Police Team, District 12 Police established a human trafficking case in early December 2022. The police rescued 11 girls, including one who was only 14 years old, who were being held in confinement and forced into prostitution to pay off debt.

In this case, Le Thanh Doan was determined to have bought a total of 5 girls for 140 million VND, brought them to Ho Chi Minh City and forced them into prostitution to pay off debt.
After being taken into Doan’s hands, the girls were brought to work in bars every day but did not receive any wages. The reason was that all unreasonable debts were deducted such as transportation costs, fines, gas money, hiring people, etc.
However, Doan managed to escape the police's intense pursuit. On May 16, the District 12 Police Department issued a special wanted notice for Doan.
Recently, District 12 Police discovered that Doan was hiding in Tan An City (Long An), so they sent a secret task force to the area to ambush and arrest this person.
At 11:00 p.m. on May 25, detectives from the Criminal Police Team raided a motel in Ward 3 (Tan An City), arrested Doan and took him to headquarters to assist with the investigation.
At the investigation agency, Doan confessed that he had hidden in many places and done many jobs to avoid detection and arrest by the police.
