Biodiversity protection is a strategic task to ensure current development goals as well as sustainability for the future. With that meaning, biodiversity protection in the province is increasingly concerned, with many synchronous solutions being implemented.

People of Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district take care of and preserve Shan Tuyet tea variety, contributing to biodiversity protection.

In particular, raising awareness to transform into practical, specific actions of each person and community in the work of protecting biodiversity has been and is being implemented and promoted effectively. Phu Tho is assessed as a locality with high biodiversity value with 5 concentrated conservation areas with a total area of ​​17,278.6 hectares; over 200,000 hectares of forested land, including protective, special-use and production forests with diverse ecosystems.

In fact, relying on the community to carry out the task of protecting biodiversity is an effective, sustainable, low-cost solution that brings many benefits. The province has directed all levels and sectors to implement propaganda and awareness raising for people and communities on biodiversity protection according to the plan for nature and biodiversity conservation for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, integrated into the provincial planning with the goal of protecting the value of ecosystems, species, and rare genetic resources in the area, developing a sustainable socio-economy and the Project "Strengthening the prevention and combat of biodiversity crimes by 2030, with a vision to 2050".

Every year, the Agriculture and Forestry sectors, localities, and socio-political organizations organize programs and training courses to raise people's awareness of biodiversity protection with specific contents and skills such as: Tree planting, forest planting, forest fire prevention and fighting; wildlife protection; conservation of rare and precious genetic varieties...

Xuan Son National Park, Tan Son district is a place with high biodiversity value, preserving and conserving endemic flora and fauna, valuable genetic resources, and valuable ecosystem standard samples in the country as well as in the world.

According to published data, nearly 1,300 species of vascular plants belonging to 699 genera of 185 families in 6 plant phyla have been identified here; 370 species of animals belonging to 76 families, 23 orders of terrestrial vertebrates, of which the mammalian fauna has 94 species, the avian fauna has 223 species, the reptile fauna has 30 species, and the amphibian fauna has 23 species. The avian fauna has the largest number of species, accounting for over 60% of the total animal species of the Park.

Comrade Tran Ngoc Cuong - Director of Xuan Son National Park said: The community in the core and buffer zones of the National Park has actively participated in the work of protecting biodiversity associated with economic development, ensuring life. People have proactively planted forests associated with forest protection, protecting forest ecosystems; voluntarily surrendered and released wild animals into the natural environment. In particular, people in Xuan Son commune have proactively cared for, preserved and developed the native Shan Tuyet tea variety associated with the development of agricultural, forestry and eco-tourism economies, helping people have more income, gradually stabilizing their lives...

Not only people living near forests, clinging to forests, biodiversity protection work has been responded to and implemented by agencies, units, socio-political organizations, and people in localities in the province. Raising awareness, improving skills, transforming into concrete actions, joining hands to protect the community's biodiversity is a strategic task. Therefore, all levels, sectors, and localities, in addition to diversifying and regularly innovating forms of propaganda and dissemination, need to study and organize many specific and appropriate activities, programs, and movements to attract a large number of people to participate in biodiversity protection work, serving the goal of sustainable socio-economic development.
