Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Transport, and the Vietnam Journalists Association, on September 12, party members, civil servants, public employees, and employees of Giao Thong Newspaper donated 100 million VND to help people facing difficulties due to rain and floods, and stabilize their lives soon.
On the same day, Giao Thong Newspaper coordinated with the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association to launch the program "Free transportation of relief goods for people in storm and flood areas".

Sharing about the program, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Thi Hong Nga said that although the operations of transport businesses are facing many difficulties due to the impact of floods, as soon as Giao Thong Newspaper proposed to set up a bridge to transport relief goods to the people, the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association and many transport businesses enthusiastically responded.
From today, September 12, organizations and individuals with relief goods for flood victims but without vehicles to transport them can contact the program to be provided with free transportation.
The program will receive orders weighing 3 tons or more at points in Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and transport them to areas affected by storms and floods.
The program only accepts free relief goods distributed through organizations and units such as the Red Cross, local Fatherland Front, People's Committees at all levels, schools, border guards, etc.

Discussing the significance of the program, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association said that at this time, no one can stand aside and watch their fellow countrymen in difficulty. Many transport units in the Association immediately responded to the call, registering to carry out free trips. The first two free transport trips arrived in Yen Bai and Bac Giang this afternoon.
Mr. Hung hopes that the program will receive more support and help relief goods reach people in flood-affected areas faster and more.
