Journalist Tran Thi Kim Hoa said: “There were many publications hundreds of years ago that raised the issue of women, girls, the role of women in the family, society and many stories related to gender, which we still mention and discuss today. Among them, in 1918 Nu Gioi Chung - the first women's newspaper appeared, although it only existed for a few months, it became a bell for gender equality and women's rights. The issue of women was officially raised for the first time by a woman, a female journalist, a female editor-in-chief, a feminist activist”.

According to Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Women's Newspaper Nguyen Thuc Hanh, in order to change awareness and behavior, promote gender equality, press products need to aim to change and eliminate gender prejudices and gender stereotypes, helping to understand and respect gender diversity. There needs to be more press products specializing in men or other genders, mobilizing the participation of all genders to promote gender equality.

Sharing practical experience, journalist Tran Trong An, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Gia Dinh Moi Electronic Magazine, said: In reality, the story of gender prejudice requires a long-term, persistent process to change awareness, through disseminating knowledge, life skills, and promoting the role of the media in promoting gender equality.

Affirming that the legal corridor for gender communication in Vietnam is currently quite complete, journalist Le Quynh Trang, Editor-in-Chief of the Capital Women's Newspaper, emphasized that there are still many difficulties in communication to promote gender equality due to the influence of traditional feudal culture that is still deeply rooted in people's thinking, such as the ideology of male superiority over female; or the situation of women being abused still exists, but victims rarely speak up and many victims' families do not want to bring their stories to the press...
