Ban Ho strives to build new countryside

The above results are thanks to the positive changes from awareness to action of the people in building new rural areas. People have promoted their role as subjects, voluntarily invested in and upgraded houses, village roads, and alleys; contributed working days, donated land for rural roads and other rural infrastructure works; boldly borrowed capital to invest in production development and increase income.

The Commune Steering Committee also regularly inspects and urges the implementation of new rural criteria in the villages; promptly handles and resolves issues arising in the area; regularly meets and dialogues to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Thanks to that, the socio-economic situation of the commune is increasingly developing, and the people's lives are improved.

However, besides the achievements, Ban Ho still has some difficulties. Up to now, the commune has only achieved 12/19 criteria. The criteria that have not been achieved include cultural facilities; income; multidimensional poverty rate; culture; environment and food safety; production organization and economic development; labor.

According to Comrade Vu A Xa, Secretary of the Ban Ho Commune Party Committee, among the 7 criteria that have not been met, there are criteria that are very difficult to implement, one of which is cultural facilities. According to the review, 6/7 village cultural houses have not met the standards, are cramped, and degraded; the commune does not have a cultural house, sports field, or entertainment and recreation area for the people. In addition, due to the low starting point, the income of the majority of people mainly depends on agricultural production, so criterion number 10 on income is also difficult to implement.

Currently, the average income of the commune has only reached 36.9 million VND/person/year, while the target is 42 million VND/person/year.

To overcome difficulties and strive to achieve the criteria in building new rural areas, Ban Ho commune promotes emulation movements in production and business, supports people in poverty reduction; mobilizes all resources to build new rural areas through State support capital sources and people's contributions; focuses on implementing the criteria according to the motto "easy things to do first, difficult things to do later"...

Comrade Vu A Xa said: Despite receiving attention, direction and support from the steering committees at all levels, along with the consensus and solidarity of the people, Ban Ho commune still faces many difficulties. In the coming time, the commune will continue to propagate and mobilize people to promote agricultural production. Along with that, implementing production development projects such as planting fruit trees, cultivating high-quality rice, raising ducks and cows in the direction of goods, growing vegetables to increase crops on rice fields...

In 2024, Ban Ho commune will continue to sustainably maintain the achieved criteria, while striving to achieve 2 more criteria: culture, production organization and rural economic development. With the motto "Building a new countryside has only a starting point, no end", the Party Committee, government and people of Ban Ho commune have continued to make efforts and strive to achieve the remaining 7 criteria to "reach the finish line" of the new countryside in the period of 2022 - 2025.
