"The project to popularize, demonstrate and commercialize the Solar Power Generation and Storage Equipment System and the IoT Monitoring System using Cloud Computing Technology" is one of the projects of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the Program to Support Small and Medium Enterprises towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to contribute to solving socio-economic problems in developing countries. The project was proposed by Niinuma Co., Ltd. - a company with a history of more than 100 years in Japan and selected by JICA in 2020.
Because connecting power lines to highland villages takes a lot of time and money, currently, about 6,000 households in Yen Bai province, including 1,400 households in Mu Cang Chai district, still do not have electricity for daily use. In this project, solar power generation and storage systems have been installed in 300 households in Mu Cang Chai district, thereby providing electricity and an electrified life for the people.
The equipment handover ceremony of the “Project for dissemination, demonstration and commercialization of Solar Power Generation and Storage Equipment System and IoT Monitoring System using Cloud Computing Technology” was held at JICA Vietnam Office.
According to the representative of Mu Cang Chai District People's Committee, over 90% of households are satisfied with the project because the project has brought many benefits such as: children have more time to study thanks to electric lights at night, the air in the room is fresher due to the use of clean energy. In addition, having electricity helps households and family members have more time to communicate and interact every night. On the other hand, the remaining 10% of households expressed their desire to increase the power storage capacity of the device.
