Teacher Tran Duy Phuong, Principal of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, informed that this year, the Asian Physics Olympiad attracted 195 contestants from 27 countries and territories. The Vietnamese delegation had 8 contestants participating, with 4 students winning Bronze Medals and 4 students receiving Certificates of Merit.

With the achievement of winning the Bronze Medal at this competition, Than The Cong has the opportunity to be directly admitted to many universities in the region and internationally.

The Asian Physics Olympiad is an annual competition for high school students under 20 years old in countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The competition was first held in 2000 in Indonesia, then rotated to countries in the region. Each country and territory has 8 contestants representing the competition. In this competition, contestants must participate in 2 contents including theory and practice.
Thus, this is the fourth time Bac Giang High School for the Gifted has had students compete in the Asian Physics Olympiad and the third time a student has won a medal. Previously, in 2009, Nghiem Xuan Hung competed and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Organizing Committee; in 2018, Trinh Duy Hieu won a Gold Medal; in 2019, Trinh Duy Hieu continued to participate and won a Silver Medal.
