Ms. Tran Kim Yen is the Chairwoman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

On the afternoon of June 22, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, chaired the ceremony to announce the personnel decision. The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee announced the decision of the Central Party Secretariat on approving Ms. Tran Kim Yen to hold the position of Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

At the ceremony, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also presented the decision of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to transfer Ms. Tran Kim Yen to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee to hold the position of Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

Ms. Tran Kim Yen was born in 1969, her hometown is Phu Yen province. Ms. Yen has a Bachelor of Law and Master of Law degrees.

Ms. Tran Kim Yen's working process began in 1997, from the grassroots government level. From January 1997 to October 2003, Ms. Tran Kim Yen worked at the People's Committee of Ward 8 (Tan Binh District), holding the positions of specialized cadre for hunger eradication and poverty reduction, member of the Office of the People's Committee of the Ward, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ward, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union of Tan Binh District.

From October 2003 to January 2010, Ms. Tran Kim Yen was the President of the Women's Union of Tan Binh District; Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Member of the Executive Committee of the Tan Binh District Party Committee.

From January 2010 to October 2011, Ms. Yen was a member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of the Tan Binh District Party Committee.

From October 2011 to February 2016, she was Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee. From February 2016 to March 2018, she was Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation; Member of the 10th City Party Committee.

From March 2018 to July 2022, she was Secretary of District 1 Party Committee, member of the 10th City Party Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. From July 2022 to present, Ms. Tran Kim Yen is Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the 15th Session (special session) held on May 19, delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council elected Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee, as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai served as Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee from July 2020 to May 19.
