According to The Verge , users can now pre-order both new MacBook Air M3s from today before they are shipped by Apple on March 8. The 13-inch MacBook Air will cost $ 1,099, while the 15-inch model will cost $ 1,299.
MacBook Air M3 includes two versions, available from March 8
Both devices feature Liquid Retina displays and up to 500 nits of brightness, and support up to two external displays when the laptop is closed. They also include upgrades to Wi-Fi 6E, which adds support for sub-6GHz bands and faster download speeds. The MacBook Air M3 models come with MagSafe charging and two Thunderbolt ports.
With the M3 chip, the new MacBook Air offers an upgraded 16-core NPU that Apple says can run optimized AI models, as well as an integrated GPU that enables mesh shading and ray tracing. It has a 1080p FaceTime camera, three microphones, and support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. Both are less than 1.27 cm thick.
The base 13-inch MacBook Air comes with a 30W USB-C charger, while most other models come with a 35W dual-port charger or a 70W charger. Both models come with 8GB of RAM, but you'll need to pay $200 for 16GB and $400 for 24GB. You can also upgrade the base model from a 256GB SSD to 512GB for $200, 1TB for $400, and 2TB for $800.
MacBook Air M3 can support up to two external displays when closed
Like the M2 MacBook Air that Apple released in 2022, the M3 MacBook Air models include a full-size function row Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. The new M3 MacBook Air comes in four colors, including Starlight, Space Gray, and Silver. There’s also a Midnight model with an anodized finish to reduce fingerprints—a welcome change from the previous fingerprint-prone Midnight option.
