(CLO) Rumors that Apple is preparing to announce a new MacBook Air in March seem to have been confirmed. CEO Tim Cook just posted a short video on social media with the cryptic caption: "this week".
In the video, the words “something in the air” appear on the screen along with background music, before a thin line flashes by. This is likely a hint at the upcoming MacBook Air M4. However, the exact timing of the event has not been revealed.

According to Bloomberg, the MacBook Air M4 is expected to come in 13-inch and 15-inch versions. Apple launched the MacBook Air M3 in March last year, so it makes sense to update the product annually. The M4 chip, which was introduced a few months ago, first appeared in the iPad Pro before being integrated into the iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro in October.
Could the “something in the air” reference an iPad Air update? It’s possible, but unlikely, as the new design for the iPad Air line was only introduced last May. However, the standard iPad line could be due for an update.
In addition to the MacBook Air M4, many sources predict that Apple will announce other improvements to the Mac product line, especially in terms of performance and battery life. Some technology experts also believe that Apple may use this event to share more about new advances in artificial intelligence on macOS.
