Many celebrities and philanthropists who are actively supporting flood victims have had to express their anger because the price of life jackets is constantly increasing.

In the past few days, many charities, philanthropists, and celebrities have made efforts to provide relief and buy life jacket rescue to send to flood areas. However, many stores have increased the price of life jackets, causing anger among charities and celebrities.
Price life jacket doubles overnight
Posting on his personal Facebook page, TikToker Pham Thoai expressed his indignation at some individuals taking advantage of the flood situation to make profits. He said that just a day before, he asked to buy a life jacket for 70,000 VND each, but the next morning the price had jumped to 135,000 VND.
Pham Thoai had planned to buy 800 life jackets, but the price increase prevented him from buying them in time, affecting the relief trip.
Not only Pham Thoai, some other celebrities also spoke out about the increase in life jacket prices.
MC/actor Bui Dai Nghia shared on his personal page that the price of life jackets has increased to 90,000 VND/piece. Although he doesn’t complain much, he still feels upset about this situation.
Also expressing outrage at the price increase of life jackets in the current emergency, TikToker Long Chun wrote: "Does it feel choking to make money right now?".
Note of PV , on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada... life jackets of sizes 6 and 7 (for adults) with an average price of 50,000 - 70,000 VND are almost sold out. Currently, there are only a few shops that have life jackets of this size, cheap, but in very small quantities or foreign stores, with shipping time lasting from a week to 10 days. There are only jackets priced at 100,000 VND or more.
Share with PV , Mr. NVT (living in Cau Giay district, Hanoi) - who has been in the life jacket business for more than 3 years - said that there has never been a year with such a big flood and life jacket shortage as this year. Currently, popular sizes such as number 6 and number 7 (for adults) are in very short supply.
At his store, size 7 costs 70,000 VND, but there are only 300 left and they are almost all pre-ordered, while size 6 is completely out of stock.
Mr. T. added that the demand for life jackets began to increase sharply 2 weeks ago and peaked in the past 4 days. The shortage of life jackets is due to the high demand, and the factories cannot meet the demand.
Currently, even ordering directly from factories is difficult. According to Mr. T., buyers must come to the factory to do the work if they want to order in large quantities.
"Nowadays, products are sold out as soon as they are made. Many times they don't answer the phone, and I can't get through to them either," Mr. T. emphasized.
He also shared that many traders and wholesalers bought life jackets at cheap prices and then resold them at high prices of over 100,000 VND, so the factories decided not to sell to these people. Instead, they only provided life jackets to charities to ensure that the goods reached those who really needed support during the flood.
Beware of scams when buying life jackets
In the group "Life Jackets", besides the buying and selling ads, there are posts constantly updating fraudulent and fake accounts selling life jackets. Many benefactors have become victims of these fraudulent accounts.

Posting in the group "Life Jackets", a philanthropist shared that he was scammed out of a deposit of 15 million VND when ordering 1,000 life jackets from a social media account. After receiving the deposit, the seller deleted his Facebook account.
Meanwhile, Ninh Vu Tran's account posted a long article warning about fake and fraudulent accounts and asked the group's administrators to pin the post to help people avoid being scammed.
A member of the group "Samsung Pho Yen Dormitory Market - Thai Nguyen" also shared two popular scam groups currently in the area where he lives.
Accordingly, a group of fraudulent buyers and sellers will ask buyers to deposit in advance, then provide a QR code to pay via a fake link, causing the buyer's account to lose all the money.
The other group took advantage of the relief efforts for personal gain. This group pretended to organize relief teams, called for donations of life jackets, and then sold the jackets instead of distributing them to people as promised.
