Quang Ninh: While riding a motorbike, the sun protection shirt a 63-year-old woman was wearing got caught in the wheel and caused her to fall, injuring and collapsing her spine.
On June 13, a representative of the Vietnam-Sweden Uong Bi Hospital said the patient had an open fracture of the lower end of the left radius in the arm, peeled skin on the face and back of the left hand, and a collapsed spine. Doctors performed surgery to treat the patient's injuries.
Sun protection shirts are an indispensable accessory for many women who ride motorbikes in the summer. With a loose design, long skirt and thick fabric, the shirt helps the wearer protect their skin, block the heat, and withstand the harsh weather of summer. However, due to its length and width, the shirt is quite cumbersome and inconvenient when the wearer is driving. There have been many cases where the shirt got caught in the wheel, causing serious accidents, such as the case above.
Doctors recommend that when participating in traffic, women should choose sun-protective shirts and skirts that are not too long or too loose. When sitting in a car, they should zip up and tuck their shirts neatly so that they do not cover the back of the car, which can easily get stuck and lead to accidents.
Many people wearing full-body raincoats can easily get caught in motorbikes, causing injuries.
