Being both a place for entertainment, recreating the old Tet space, the unique traditional cultural features, and also a destination, check-in point... is the impression of the Cultural Space of Tet of ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province, which was held for the first time on the occasion of the recent Lunar New Year. This program will be researched, innovated, and can serve tourism in the following years.
Held during the traditional New Year (from 27/1-3/2/2025), program on has created a unique space and left a certain impression on locals and tourists. In space about 3,000m2 in the yard of the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace, The organizers have arranged dozens of booths, stages, experience points, and check-in points for visitors.
The highlight of this space is the traditional Tet colors, the old Tet is vividly depicted. The space is organized in the form of a Tet market in a Northern countryside village. The entrance is designed as a village gate, inside there are familiar images of Cuoi and Teu holding floating flags, parallel sentences...
The first impression is the space of ethnic costumes of Quang Ninh province with colorful costumes of the Dao people, indigo of the Tay people, San Chi people... together types hat, head scarf, silver jewelry... Not only displaying, people and tourists can also interact with Dao Thanh Y artisans, be guided in embroidering brocade squares and experience traditional costumes.
A space that attracts the attention of many viewers and tourists is the space of Tet in the coal region, Tet of miners with the old 4-level house, many items associated with Tet, the life of miners' families during the subsidy period. In the miner's house, viewers are reminded of many memories when experiencing sitting on an old-style wooden table and chair, looking at the tea cabinet, cassette player, fan, oil lamp... Small peach branch, single vase next to red TV, hats and stove lamps ... make viewers remember the old Tet even more.
Although simple, this old Tet space has touched the emotions of many locals and tourists. "It's been a long time since I felt the old Tet atmosphere. When I was a child, I wrapped and boiled banh chung with my grandparents and parents, the whole family gathered around the fire... All of it reminds me of the old Tet, which was difficult but sweet and memorable" - Mr. Gian Van Tung (Cua Ong ward, Cam Pha city) shared.
Notably, next to the exhibition booth, there are many spaces for visitors to have fun and experience the traditional Tet flavor. These are spaces for Tet paintings, calligraphy, calligraphy, food booths (all kinds of tea, cakes, OCOP products from all regions in the province)...
In another corner, many families and parents enjoy letting their children gather together to experience making banh chung. Equally interesting is the space for folk games of the province's ethnic groups, where visitors are instructed on how to play the ball throwing game, join in the bamboo jumping game or watch cockfighting, blindfolded pot smashing to win prizes...
In addition, there are cultural and artistic programs every evening, Dong Ho painting exhibition, portrait sketches, Traditional martial arts and dancesport performances are continuously held. It can be seen that, As Tet approaches, the demand for travel and entertainment is increasing while there is a lack of services and entertainment spots. Perhaps, this is an interesting activity, a suggestion to meet the demand for entertainment, cultural enjoyment as well as create a destination for tourists to Quang Ninh on this occasion.
