With the theme "Data Security: Protecting National Digital Resources", Vietnam Security Summit 2023 is a prestigious forum for policy makers, leading experts, technology solution providers... to meet and discuss new trends in the field of information security, and propose strategies and solutions to prevent and respond to current risks in cyberspace.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc said that the city is making efforts to focus on promoting the process of digital transformation and building a smart city. This includes the formation of shared data warehouses, issues related to data integration and sharing. In addition, the challenges of ensuring information safety and security are extremely important and essential, which the city is paying great attention to and focusing on solving.

“I believe that this conference and exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City will create a meaningful forum for us to learn, exchange ideas and build cooperative relationships. We need to focus on raising awareness, training on cyber security, promoting research and development of new technologies, and strengthening domestic and international cooperation to deal with increasingly sophisticated threats,” emphasized Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc.

At the event, Major General Nguyen Van Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) outlined the trends of cybercrime that have stolen data in recent times, such as: attacks to spread malware to appropriate, steal, encrypt data, and blackmail from users' electronic devices and devices; attacks through the supply chain of enterprises (through suppliers and partners of that enterprise); attacks on administrative server systems, data servers using cloud computing platforms (Cloud)...

Chaired by Mr. Le Cong Phu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Cyberspace Emergency Response Center (VNCERT/CC) - Authority of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications), there were discussions on a number of current prominent issues such as: Data protection of important digital platforms such as digital platforms used uniformly nationwide or locally; causes and trends of current data breaches; effective control of customer data usage in the context of third-party suppliers and partners having access to data; measures and technologies to support timely identification and effective response to cases of data breaches and security breaches, etc.

Launch of Digital Investigation Support Platform

On this occasion, the Department of Information Security also launched the Digital Investigation Support Platform. Through this platform, incident response teams of network member units can receive, report, share information about incidents and organize network incident handling. In particular, on this platform, data and knowledge related to cyber attack campaigns, security vulnerabilities, malware, etc. are also shared to all network members quickly and synchronously, helping to promptly update security vulnerabilities and cyber attack campaigns for monitoring and proactive response.

Mr. Tran Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) said: In the digital age, every business will trade in data with the amount of data created in 2023 being about 60 times that of 2010. Digital data will be a gold mine for countries, organizations, and businesses to exploit and take advantage of to stay ahead of the trend and surpass it legally. Therefore, protecting data security and personal information security is protecting the extremely valuable resources of each country, organization, and business.
