To continue to strengthen food safety and food poisoning prevention, the Food Safety Department has requested the Hanoi Department of Health to proactively coordinate with local functional units to strengthen supervision and implement food safety control measures, including:

Strictly check the source of raw materials, food additives, frying oils, especially for grilled meat, skewers, fast food... at food service establishments, street food, food around schools, strictly handle cases of violation of food safety regulations.

In addition, it is necessary to promote propaganda and dissemination of knowledge about food safety, measures to ensure food safety and prevent food poisoning for business owners, food service and street food vendors. At the same time, propaganda for consumers, especially primary and secondary school students to choose clean restaurants, limit eating in dusty areas, places with a lot of vehicles, smoke and dust, which do not ensure food safety and hygiene.

How dangerous is eating "dirty" food?

Previously, speaking with a reporter from SKDS Newspaper, Dr. Le Anh Tien said that if you eat "dirty" food, the most dangerous thing is that the toxins will gradually accumulate in the body, causing chronic and dangerous diseases. Specifically:

- If chronic metal poisoning causes liver failure, kidney failure, central nervous system degeneration, dementia, Parkinson's disease, insomnia, anxiety, memory loss, even bone marrow failure leading to anemia and leukopenia.

- Food containing antibiotic residues or animal growth stimulants will gradually accumulate in the body, causing edema, water retention, and diseases such as heart rhythm disturbances, stimulating the nervous system, causing anxiety, insomnia, stress, and then possibly causing nervous breakdown. In addition, when poisoned by this type, the body is susceptible to resistance to antibiotics, so when the body gets sick, it will be more difficult to treat.

Poisoning by inorganic substances such as formalin, urea, borax... can cause chronic liver and kidney damage and is also a risk factor for cancer and brain cell damage.

- Toxic substances in dirty food contaminated with additives, chemical preservatives not allowed for human use or overdose can damage cells in the body and affect the next generation. Because the reproductive cells of the reproductive system are among the most vulnerable cells. If damaged, it will inhibit the activity of the ovaries and testicles, creating many immature eggs that are still ovulating or creating deformed sperm that are difficult to conceive and lead to infertility.
