India remains the main export market for Vietnamese cinnamon.

In October 2024, the main export market of Vietnamese cinnamon was still India, accounting for 39.2%, reaching 3,986 tons, an increase of 50.1% compared to September.


According to preliminary statistics of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in October 2024, Vietnam exported 10,166 tons of cinnamon, with a total export turnover of 26.2 million USD, an increase of 58.1% compared to the previous month.

Prosi Thang Long, Tuan Minh and Senspices are the three largest exporters, reaching 1,541 tons, 663 tons and 649 tons respectively. The main export market of Vietnamese cinnamon is still India, accounting for 39.2%, reaching 3,986 tons, up 50.1% compared to September.

In total, in 10 months, Vietnam exported 79,516 tons of cinnamon, with a total export turnover of 220.5 million USD, compared to the same period last year, the export volume increased by 6.4%, equivalent to the export turnover of the whole year 2023. India, the United States and Bangladesh are the three main export markets of Vietnamese cinnamon, reaching 27,381 tons, 8,562 tons and 6,850 tons, respectively.

The leading exporting enterprises in the first 10 months of the year include: Prosi Thang Long with 11,540 tons, accounting for 14.5%; followed by Son Ha Spices with 4,950 tons, accounting for 6.2%; Tuan Minh with 3,696 tons, accounting for 4.6%; Senspices Vietnam with 3,443 tons, accounting for 4.3% and Olam Vietnam with 3,237 tons, accounting for 4.1%.

In the opposite direction, Vietnam imported 265 tons of cinnamon, worth 0.8 million USD, an increase of 22.7% compared to September. Vietnam imported mainly from Indonesia, accounting for 56.2%, reaching 149 tons.

In the first 10 months of 2024, Vietnam imported 3,713 tons of cinnamon, worth 9.0 million USD, compared to the same period last year, the import volume decreased by 73.3%. Son Ha Spices Company is the largest importer with 997 tons, while Indonesia and China are the two largest cinnamon suppliers to Vietnam, accounting for 47.0% and 35.9%, respectively, reaching 1,744 tons and 1,332 tons.
