India has deployed several guided-missile destroyers in the Arabian Sea after a chemical tanker was attacked off the country's western coast, Nikkei Asia reported.
According to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense, the MV Chem Pluto, which was attacked on December 23, has been escorted to Mumbai. The Liberian-flagged ship has 21 Indian sailors and one Vietnamese sailor on board (all are safe after the attack).
The Indian Navy has launched an investigation to determine whether the UAV used in the attack was launched from a distance or from a nearby ship. Concerned about recent attacks in the Arabian Sea, the Indian Navy has deployed several guided missile destroyers, including INS Mormugao, INS Kochi and INS Kolkata, in various areas.
