In the Exam Season Consulting program held in Binh Duong yesterday morning (February 16), Dr. Le Duy Tan, lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology, International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) shared information about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on learning and future job trends.
Dr. Le Duy Tan said that the term AI has been around for more than half a century, but the emergence of ChatGPT in the past two years has caused a stir in AI. This is reminiscent of a historical event when people were very worried that the advent of pocket calculators would negatively affect math learning, but reality has proven that this concern did not happen.
Using technology and artificial intelligence in learning is becoming more and more popular with students.

Dr. Le Duy Tan affirmed: "Using this tool is not a threat, it is only a threat if you do not know how to use it and depend completely on it". Regarding dealing with AI in schools, Dr. Tan said: "AI can support but cannot replace learners in understanding and remembering problems. Therefore, students need to learn how to use AI tools but absolutely do not depend on it. AI is just a tool, and the decision maker is you".
Sharing more about AI's impact on career trends, Dr. Tan predicted: "According to the movement of society, AI development will create many new job positions. AI will never replace you, but those who know how to use AI will do it." Dr. Tan added: "If a few years ago, the two skills needed to go to work were foreign languages and computer science, then in the future, using AI tools can become the third mandatory criterion for candidates."

Participating in the consultation session, Duong Ha My Duyen, a 12th grade student at Tay Nam High School (Binh Duong), said that she and many of her friends use AI in their studies because it can "give quick results without much thought." For example, Duyen often uses AIs like ChatGPT to solve math problems, geometry problems, or history problems. "Teachers know we use AI," the student said, but she is also worried that AI will affect her thinking ability. "I'm also afraid that AI will replace humans in professional jobs," Duyen said.
Convenience and providing many suggestions to easily complete exercises are the reasons why Le Thi Ngoc Mai, a 12th grade student at Tan Phuoc Khanh High School (Binh Duong), turned to ChatGPT, especially in subjects that require long answers such as economics and law education and literature. "Most of my class uses ChatGPT, some students use other applications like Gauth", Nguyen Duy Manh, a student in the same grade, added: "Thanks to technologies like AI, I can develop more and learn many different knowledge". As for Ngoc Mai, because the school currently no longer organizes extra classes according to the regulations of Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training, AI helps her self-study more effectively.
