At a regular press conference held on July 30 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said that in the first 7 months of 2024, the total number of Vietnamese workers working under contracts abroad was 89,874, reaching 71.89% of the plan for the whole year of 2024.
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said it will continue to implement solutions to develop the labor market to maintain a stable workforce, contributing to economic development, production and business of enterprises.
In the first 6 months of the year, the unemployment rate among working age people was 2.27%, unchanged from the same period last year. The labor structure continued to shift positively, with 13.7 million people employed in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, accounting for 26.7% and down 112,800 people compared to the same period last year.
Along with that, the number of enterprises entering the market was more than 119,600, an increase of 5.3% over the same period in 2023 and still higher than the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market of 110,300. Thereby, enterprises still contribute to maintaining, creating jobs and income for many workers.
