Da Lat (Lam Dong) continues to attract tourists as many purple phoenix flowers bloom one after another in the area, creating a rare romantic scene. One of the most popular photo locations is the tree at 260 Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street. Photo: Hong Tam. The Royal Poinciana is a large tree with a wide canopy and complex leaves. Ms. Ngoc, the homeowner, said that she was the one who planted this tree in 1983. "When I first planted it, the tree was only as small as my wrist. After 42 years of care, the tree has now matured and reached the desired beauty. My house also has cherry blossoms, and many visitors come to take pictures during the blooming season. I am quite picky but still welcome friends from near and far to take pictures, as long as they maintain public hygiene," Ms. Ngoc said. Photo: Hong Tam.
The highlight of the tree at Xo Viet Nghe Tinh is the typical Da Lat landscape behind. Nguyen Thi Hong Tam (living in Da Lat) said that Ms. Ngoc's house is a true old-style Da Lat house, in which the main features are the high-rise tiles and light-colored walls similar to French architecture, bearing the mark of the early 20th century. In addition, the gentle slope is also a factor that helps visitors take close-up photos of the flowers. Photo: Hong Tam. Another equally famous place to take photos of purple phoenix flowers in Da Lat is Hermann Gmeiner High School (located on Hung Vuong Street). This is the most beautiful tree in the "city of thousands of flowers" but is quite "secretive" because it is not easy for tourists to approach the tree. Photo: Sam Sam.
Local photographer Sam Sam said that currently very few tourists or photographers can work in this area. Thanks to the tree's popularity, many tourists have come to this place to take photos, but they are all refused by security guards on the grounds of ensuring the quiet of the students at the school. "I have to wake up early, around 6am, to be able to ask to take a few photos when the school is empty," Sam told Tri Thuc - Znews. Photo: Hong Tam. Without a gentle slope like the tree on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, the purple phoenix trees at Hermann Gmeiner "make money" on the steps in the school yard, giving visitors the feeling of returning to school days, recalling the years full of memories, innocence and dreams. In order not to affect the school's teaching activities, visitors who want to take photos with the tree can come early or late in the afternoon, when teaching and learning activities end. Photo: Hong Tam.
