Ministry of Finance meets to discuss plans for handling construction works and real estate after merger

This afternoon, April 9, the Ministry of Finance held a national online meeting to review and handle public works and real estate after streamlining the apparatus and administrative units according to the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. Leaders of Ha Tinh province and representatives of departments and branches attended a national online meeting on reviewing and handling constructions and real estate that are public assets.

According to the plan for the arrangement, reorganization and handling of public assets after the reorganization of administrative units developed by the Ministry of Finance: Units subject to the reorganization of administrative units shall conduct an inventory, classify, make a list and plan for the arrangement and handling of headquarters and public assets of agencies, organizations and units under their management. The plan for the arrangement, reorganization and handling of public assets must be implemented simultaneously with the process of developing the Project for the reorganization and reorganization of administrative units at all levels. The arrangement, reorganization and handling of assets must be appropriate to the subjects of management and use, the nature and characteristics of the assets, making the most of the resources of existing assets but must have a long-term vision.

At the meeting, ministries, branches and localities gave their opinions on plans to review and handle public works and real estate after the restructuring and streamlining of the apparatus and administrative units; Review projects, works and headquarters under construction or approved for investment and construction that are affected by the restructuring and streamlining of the apparatus and administrative units. At the same time, it was recommended that the Ministry of Finance soon issue specific instructions on methods and a step-by-step roadmap for the restructuring and handling of public assets when restructuring the apparatus in the locality.

In Ha Tinh, localities and units have implemented plans to handle public works and real estate after rearranging and streamlining the apparatus and administrative units managed by provincial and district levels. Specifically, the total number of works and headquarters attached to land under the management of provincial agencies and units is 225, of which 14 are partially no longer in use. For works and headquarters under the management of district levels, there are 1,604 facilities, of which 223 are partially no longer in use.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Ministry of Finance requested that ministries, branches and localities soon establish teams to handle construction works and real estate that are public assets after rearranging and streamlining the apparatus and administrative units. At the same time, they must take action with the highest sense of responsibility, requiring strong direction from the heads of units and localities. The Ministry of Finance will summarize the results of the General Inventory and report to the Prime Minister before May 30, 2025.
