In order to create opportunities for connecting vocational training institutions with businesses in training and job placement for students after graduation; Connecting businesses with recruitment needs with workers to provide consultation, introduction and job placement; Contributing to increasing the rate of trained workers in Hanoi; The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi (DOLISA) organized the "Festival connecting the Capital's vocational education with the labor market in 2024".
The festival is an annual vocational education admissions consulting activity, receiving the active response and participation of junior high school (THCS), high school (THPT) students, vocational education institutions (GDNN), businesses and workers in Hanoi.
The festival has created opportunities for vocational training institutions to connect with businesses in improving training quality, promptly updating market development trends and labor recruitment needs, moving towards training linkages according to business needs; Contributing to improving training quality while increasing the rate of trained workers.
With an organization scale of about 11,000 people, including: 54 vocational training institutions directly participating in enrollment consulting, demonstrating vocational skills at 73 booths. 50 enterprises participating in recruitment at the Job Fair. 8,000 final year students at secondary schools, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers in 24 districts, towns: Dong Anh, Soc Son, Me Linh, Tay Ho, Long Bien, Gia Lam, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoan Kiem, Ha Dong, Thanh Xuan, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong, Phu Xuyen, Chuong My, Thanh Oai, Quoc Oai, Ung Hoa, My Duc, Son Tay participated in career counseling and vocational education enrollment activities. About 3,000 students of vocational training institutions and workers participated in the Job Fair.
According to the report of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi City: With 314 establishments with vocational training activities, in 2023, 246,100 people will be enrolled and trained, exceeding the planned target by 7% (37,778 people with college level, 33,699 people with intermediate level, 174,623 people with elementary level and under 3 months). There will be 215,534 graduates (18,894 people with college level, 23,008 people with intermediate level, 173,632 people with elementary level, under 3 months, exceeding the planned target by 6.7%). The rate of trained workers in 2023 reached 73.23%, exceeding the planned target set for 2023 by 0.03% (of which the rate of workers with certificates reached 52.53%, exceeding the planned target by 0.03 percentage points, an increase of 0.03 percentage points compared to 2022).
According to Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hanoi, the Festival will continue to contribute to raising social awareness of the role and position of vocational education; promoting vocational training associated with enterprises; promoting career counseling for junior high school and high school graduates; aiming at the common goal of improving the quality of vocational education and the quality of human resources.
In 2024, the vocational education and employment sector aims to enroll and train 235,000 people (26,000 college, 30,000 intermediate, 179,000 primary and under 3 months). Strive for the rate of trained workers to reach 74.2%, of which the rate of workers with degrees and certificates will reach 54%. Create new jobs for 165,000 workers.
Vu Duc Duy (born in 2004, Me Linh district, Hanoi) shared: I personally participated in the Festival to learn more and have orientations for my future work. I was able to access and have career options and job opportunities that suited my needs and abilities. This was also an opportunity for me to learn and know more about units that have labor recruitment needs and apply accordingly.
Joining the recruiters, Ms. Ngo Thi Le (Viet Duc Aspiration Joint Stock Company/VGEC) said: The festival was organized very meaningfully, helping young people and workers grasp and choose suitable jobs at schools and companies. VGEC also coordinated to participate, introducing to young people the opportunity to study abroad while still receiving a salary during the process, job opportunities, converting degrees and settling in Germany.
