Request to 'tighten' student transport activities

On June 11, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued an official dispatch on strengthening the implementation of tasks to ensure traffic safety for cars transporting students.

In particular, the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Transport to preside over the review of schools using contract cars to transport students. Thereby, requiring transport businesses to comply with business regulations and conditions for transporting by car. In particular, there must be a control plan to ensure that there are no passengers left on the vehicle after the end of the journey or the end of the working shift.

The Department of Education and Training of Da Nang was assigned to require all educational institutions in the city that use cars to transport students to follow procedures and check the number of students when getting on and off the vehicle.

The Department also requires schools to coordinate with parents' associations to work with transport businesses, requiring full implementation of traffic safety regulations for vehicles and drivers. Educational institutions absolutely do not contract cars to pick up and drop off students with transport businesses that do not ensure the conditions for car transport business.

The transportation contract between the educational institution and the transportation business unit must clearly state the requirements and responsibilities of the relevant organizations and individuals regarding traffic safety and protecting the health of students when sitting on the vehicle and when getting on and off the vehicle. On the vehicle, there must be someone responsible for managing and checking the list of students, maintaining order and hygiene, and instructing and reminding students to follow the regulations and safety skills when sitting on the vehicle and when getting on and off the vehicle.

Da Nang City Police are assigned to take charge of patrolling, detecting and strictly handling violations of the law in passenger transport activities. In particular, they pay attention to checking and handling violations of vehicles transporting students.
