Hanoi student bands compete for the second time, promising many breathtaking performances

This year, the Hanoi city student music festival program has the theme: "Building happy schools".

According to the organizers, there are 37 teams from public and private schools, specialized schools and schools with foreign elements registered to participate. The bands participating in the festival will go through 2 rounds of competition including preliminary and final rounds. Each band and group will perform 2 consecutive works in the genres of ensemble and accompaniment. The judges of the program are prestigious musicians and artists.

Leaders of the Department of Education and Training shared information about the student music festival program on the morning of April 14.

According to Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the new feature of the second festival is that international school students will participate, and the number of teams and bands has increased compared to the first time.

“The organizing committee is making efforts to create conditions to promote cultural activities in schools, in order to balance learning and playing activities, helping students relieve stress after study hours. The program will be invested in a more elaborate and modern sound and lighting system so that bands and musical groups can show their talents,” said Mr. Cuong.

On the afternoon of April 14, the official opening ceremony of the band festival took place at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. In the preliminary round (taking place from April 14 to April 16), each band performed 2 consecutive works, in the genres of ensemble and accompaniment.

The final round is scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 28 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace; broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television (channel H1) and streamed online on the digital platforms of schools.

The organizing committee will award 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 21 third prizes to students.
