In recent times, agencies, units, businesses and people of all walks of life in Yen Mo district have actively supported the "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund to care for poor and near-poor households in the district, providing them with more motivation to help them stabilize their lives.

For over 2 years, the family of Ms. Le Thi Tuyen, Trung hamlet, Yen Hung commune has faced many difficulties in life. The reason is that Ms. Tuyen's husband was paralyzed in a work accident, Ms. Tuyen could not go to work regularly because she had to stay home to take care of her husband. Meanwhile, the family's old house was seriously degraded and there was no money to rebuild or repair it. Faced with this situation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Hung district and commune mobilized benefactors to support 80 million VND and labor days to help the family build a new house.

After 3 months of construction, the house was completed in the joy and happiness of the family. Ms. Le Thi Tuyen shared: Receiving a donation of 80 million VND, with additional support from both families, my husband and I were able to build a spacious house worth 350 million VND. This is a great joy, encouraging my husband and I to strive to overcome our circumstances...

Mr. Tong Van Truong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Hung commune, said: Along with programs to support the poor and near-poor in their livelihoods to develop production and stabilize their lives, Yen Hung commune also creates all conditions for households facing sudden difficulties, single-parent households, and families with difficult policies to receive support in building and repairing houses, helping households "settle down and make a living". Currently, the poverty rate of Yen Hung commune is 2.9%, and the near-poor rate is 4.9%. From the beginning of 2023 to now, Yen Hung commune has 5 families supported to build new and repair houses under the programs of the province and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with an amount of nearly 500 million VND. The commune's "Repaying gratitude and social security" fund has currently mobilized nearly 60 million VND, depending on the case, it will be used to give gifts, visit, and support disadvantaged households and families with difficult policies when necessary.

The joy of Ms. Tuyen's family is also the joy and excitement of over 30 poor and near-poor households who received funding to build new houses on this occasion, with a total value of over 3.2 billion VND. Mr. Doi Van Ngo, hamlet 1 Dong Son, Yen Mac commune said: His family is a near-poor household as he has been seriously ill for many years, spending over 2 million VND per month on medical treatment, while his and his wife's income only depends on a few fields, and because of their old age, farming is not effective.

Mr. Doi Van Ngo and his wife, Yen Mac commune, were excited to receive support to build a new, spacious house.

"We thought we would have to live in a dark, cramped house of less than ten square meters like that because we didn't even have money to treat him, let alone repair the house. But then, with the attention and support of all levels, sectors and local authorities in terms of funding and labor, my family tried to save and borrow more to build a 70 square meter house, worth 300 million VND. Now that we have a house, we feel secure, not worried about rainy, sunny, windy or stormy days, and will try to escape poverty..." - said Mrs. Pham Thi Xuyen, Mr. Ngo's wife.

In order for the houses to be completed and put into use soon, local Party committees, authorities, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and towns coordinate with member organizations to mobilize participation in helping with working days, construction materials, and gifts of necessary items and equipment for daily life, joining hands to help poor and near-poor households quickly live in new houses at the lowest cost, stabilize and improve their lives soon.
