The "huge" drug factory in Nha Trang is located on a spiritual land, very deserted.

(Dan Tri) - According to local people, the factory producing 1.4 tons of drugs was set up in the northern cemetery area of ​​Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. Few people passed by so no one knew or suspected.

On March 27, authorities are strictly blocking the area of ​​a factory producing 1.4 tons of drugs in the northern cemetery area, Vinh Luong commune, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.

According to Dan Tri reporters, the road leading to the drug factory is a dirt road, paved with gravel, with trees growing on both sides. The factory is located more than 500m from the cemetery, less than 1km from National Highway 1 and nearly 10km from Nha Trang city center.

Mr. Tinh, a local resident, said that this area is spiritual land so there are no people living around.

"I saw the factory but didn't know what they produced. It wasn't until I read the newspaper that I learned that the area I often pass by is a factory producing tons of drugs," Mr. Tinh said.

Mr. HVL, a worker near the drug factory, shared: "I heard that this was a plastic factory, but then I didn't care or ask any more questions. There was no unusual burning smell in this area."

Mr. Vu Van Ha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Luong Commune, where two drug production warehouses are located, said he will respond in writing to issues related to administrative management.

According to information from the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C04) - Ministry of Public Security, in 2021, Truong Xuan Minh (51 years old, Taiwanese - Chinese) came to Vietnam, creating a cover for investing in business and raising ornamental fish.

In November 2024, Truong Xuan Minh asked someone to rent a 1,000m2 plot of land in the northern cemetery as a base, assigned guards, installed surveillance cameras, and raised dogs to detect intruders.

To gather raw materials, chemicals and related equipment, Minh rented an additional 300m2 plot of land 3km away from the facility. Then, this "boss" hired 2 Chinese people and 4 Vietnamese people to construct and build the facility, install a 3-phase electrical system, buy generators, and install drug production lines.

At the end of January, when the factory was completed, the subjects transferred raw materials and chemicals and started producing about 1.8 tons of yellow powder, packed it into 27 foam boxes, and then sent it to a cold storage in Nha Trang.

Next, Minh recruited four other people and hired two Taiwanese people with expertise in drug production to continue with the second phase.

The finished products in phase 1 were brought to the factory, solvents were added, and heating was done to produce white powder. Next, the subjects took this powder to warehouse number 47 Cat Loi (Nha Trang city) to carry out the final stage to produce pure ketamine.

To date, the investigation agency has seized a total of 1.4 tons of ketamine with very high purity, along with nearly 80 tons of chemicals, and arrested 11 subjects, including 4 Chinese subjects, 3 Taiwanese subjects (China), and 4 Vietnamese subjects.
