The yard of Hanoi Capital University these days wears a very special color. There is nostalgia, reminding of the past days and memories, but also has many modern touches of a strong and mature Capital University of the present.

In the cool autumn weather of October, the eyes, the kind smiles, the slow steps, the firm handshakes... of the former teachers of the school for their old colleagues make today's generations of lecturers and students moved and respected.

Present at the reunion were many teachers who had entered their eighties and nineties but were still healthy, active, clear-headed, and cheerful. When meeting each other, everyone held hands to share, ask about health, family, current life and together recall old memories...

Attending the meeting, Ms. Dang Thi Loan, former teacher of the Math Department from 1973 to 2001, excitedly said: “Returning to my old school today, I am very happy and excited. I am even happier to see the new school becoming more and more beautiful; the students are becoming more and more talented, active and successful.”

Once the head of the Literature Group, Ms. Thanh Thi Yen My, 85 years old, reminisced about the past. “In the past, our Literature Group was very happy, warm, harmonious, serious and focused on improving our expertise. Meeting each other today, we felt like we were young again and took many souvenir photos together. Returning to school, I remembered the poem I once wrote: “Who wants to find a green valley/In the middle of the hot and dry weather/Come here to the Pedagogical School/With its sweet fruit gardens…”.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Phuong, former Vice Principal in charge of the school, shared his emotions: “Returning to the school where we once worked, surely everyone feels joy and indescribable emotions, like returning to the most beautiful, pure and closest memories in our lives. This is also an opportunity to meet, chat, shake hands, share and listen to old memories... Many staff and teachers have left this school, but its spiritual values ​​and humanity remain intact. The tradition of the school is the warm sunshine that guides, continuing to sow seeds for brighter seasons to come...”.

Proud to be a student of Hanoi Capital University

Generations of student teachers of Hanoi Pedagogical High School and Hanoi Pedagogical College (now Hanoi University) at that time have all become excellent teachers and thanks to their efforts and training, many of them are managers, holding important positions in agencies, units and schools of the capital's education sector.

A special performance by teachers and students of Thanh Xuan Nam Primary School, Thanh Xuan District, performed at the ceremony.

Teacher Nguyen Le Hang, a student teacher from the 1993-1995 course, now the Principal of Thanh Xuan Nam Primary School, Thanh Xuan District, said that she is happy to have had the time to study and practice at Hanoi Pedagogical University; to be taught by teachers, to enrich her knowledge, to practice her knowledge and love for the profession to become a teacher. Up to now, after nearly 30 years of graduating, from a student teacher, she has become a teacher and through various tasks has been in a management role for nearly 15 years.

What is special is that at Thanh Xuan Nam Primary School where she works, out of 60 teachers, 50 are former students of Hanoi Capital University.

“Because of the emotion, pride and gratitude, today the staff, teachers and students of Thanh Xuan Nam Primary School returned to Thu Do University and performed a special performance of a medley of songs and dances praising the teaching profession,” shared teacher Nguyen Le Hang.

Sending sincere thanks to the teachers who taught him in the past, Dr. Tran Luu Hoa, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, a former student teacher of the school, expressed his pride that he and generations of student teachers and students of the school had studied and grown up at this school.

“We are always proud to look back to the school where we studied and are forever proud to introduce ourselves as former teachers and former students of Hanoi Capital University. We are grateful to our teachers for creating a disciplined and humane environment, contributing to training personality and expertise so that generations of students always nurture their passion for the profession and the teaching profession will always be “The profession I love” as the poem I once wrote: “If anyone asks me what profession I love the most/I will answer that I am a teacher/Shaping and decorating the hearts and minds/For the lives and rising generations…”, former teacher Tran Luu Hoa emotionally confided.

Expressing gratitude to generations of former teachers, former teachers and students of the school through the ages, Dr. Do Hong Cuong, Principal of Hanoi Capital University expressed: “Teachers and students of Hanoi Capital University today always affirm and respect the rich tradition and great achievements that veteran teachers, former teachers who are leaders of the school and generations of students of the school have created; at the same time, draw lessons from those achievements for success and development…”.

The meeting ceremony for generations of former teachers and students was held on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the tradition of Hanoi Capital University (1959 - 2024) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Capital University (December 31, 2014 - December 31, 2024). The activity aims to arouse the pride of cadres, lecturers, staff and students in Hanoi Capital University (formerly Hanoi Pedagogical College); honor the construction achievements and great contributions of generations throughout the history of the school's development, thereby enhancing the responsibility of the team of cadres , civil servants , students and students today to bring the school forward steadily in the new period.
