Storm No. 3 caused economic damage of about VND81,500 billion, of which agriculture alone suffered over VND30,800 billion (38%). The livestock and aquaculture sectors were most severely affected. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development promptly deployed support to localities, providing materials, breeds and feed to heavily damaged provinces such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, especially in Van Don, where the Department of Fisheries directly provided materials, breeds, feed... to support production recovery.
Regarding cultivation, total output reached 34.01 million tons, up 1.5% compared to last year. It is expected to still reach about 40 million tons, enough to meet domestic demand despite the loss of about 300,000-400,000 tons due to natural disasters.
Regarding livestock, meat output reached 6.13 million tons, up 4.8% over the same period. Regarding aquatic products, total output reached 7.02 million tons, of which export turnover by the end of September reached 7.23 billion USD, with September alone reaching more than 900 million USD. This year's aquatic product export target is likely to reach 10 billion USD.
