On the afternoon of November 27, Mr. Pham Son Trieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Bui Commune (Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam) said that heavy rain lasting for many days caused landslides in many places in the area.

Highway 8 leading to the commune has been eroded at more than 10 points with more than 2,000 cubic meters of rock and soil spilling across the road. The most serious landslide was at village 2, Xo Ro village.

"Currently, the authorities are trying to clear the road so that people can travel as soon as possible," said Mr. Trieu.

In particular, in village 6 (Tra Bui commune), a 50m long, more than 1m deep crack appeared running along the garden of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dao and many neighboring households.

Heavy rain also broke the inter-village road in village 6; more than 40m of concrete road collapsed.

Immediately afterwards, local authorities provided means to evacuate 10 households in the area where the crack appeared to safe shelters.

It is known that this whole village has 278 households with 1,263 people, of which 33 households are subject to relocation according to the district's plan.
