People's Artist Hong Van and Meritorious Artist Xuan Hinh are familiar faces on stage. The two actors not only interact well when working but are also close friends in real life.

In a behind-the-scenes video of a recent show in Hanoi, artist Hong Van shared a funny moment when she adjusted Xuan Hinh's wig.

"This time in Hanoi, I had the task of "serving" Mr. Xuan Hinh to do his hair. No hairdresser could stand him, he had no hair, only wigs.

I did his hair but he wouldn't lend me money. I went to Hanoi without cash, I wanted to borrow a little from Xuan Hinh, but I couldn't," Hong Van said.

Hong Van said Xuan Hinh's principle is not to lend money to anyone, even relatives. After listening, the "King of Northern Comedy" explained further: "If I give money, I give it all, why lend it, it will ruin our brotherhood."

During the conversation, Xuan Hinh recalled that in the past, the artist went to Ho Chi Minh City to perform for Hong Van's stage for a whole month. "You paid me 12 million VND a month, why didn't you tell me? How much is my salary for one night, but you only paid me 12 million VND," the artist joked.

Hearing that, Hong Van laughed: "It was 20-30 years ago, how do you remember so clearly? How many taels of gold was 12 million VND at that time? At that time, gold was 350,000 VND per tael, which is 3.5 million VND per tael. 12 million VND is 4 and a half taels. The theater sells 300 seats each night, and if you earn 4 and a half taels of gold in a month, that's not bad."

In a behind-the-scenes video aired on January 3, Hong Van also attracted attention when sharing a moment of intimate conversation with Xuan Hinh while eating snails in Hanoi.

"The King of Northern Comedy" advised Hong Van to reduce her workload and "be less greedy for money" because she was worried about her health. "The economy is difficult this year, why bother opening a stage? Since coming here, there was a meal that she called to cancel 9 times. Why are you so busy, where did all the money go? You are too greedy, people are off on Tet holiday, but you come here to practice," Xuan Hinh said.

Faced with Xuan Hinh's advice, Hong Van laughed and admitted that she was completely "inferior": "I can't argue back, with Xuan Hinh around, I turn off the radio."

"Mr. Xuan Hinh was the first person from Hanoi to help me in the early days of the theater's establishment. He helped me a lot. Although he may have forgotten now, I will always be grateful to him, never to forget.

In the past, no one could invite Xuan Hinh to perform. The provincial show organizers had to book a long time in advance. Sometimes when he was busy, angry, and had to listen to his scolding, they were still willing to line up and wait for him to accept. But with me, it's different. Because of this, I'm very grateful," Hong Van once shared.
