According to the announcement of the Hai Phong Department of Transport, from 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (April 9), all types of cars are allowed to travel in both directions through the overpass of the Investment Project to build a different-level intersection at the intersection of Ton Duc Thang - Mang Nuoc - National Highway 5 (Different-level intersection project) in An Dong commune, An Duong district, Hai Phong city.
The level-separated intersection project is one of the key traffic projects in Hai Phong City. The project is expected to eliminate “black spots” that cause traffic congestion as well as potential high risks of traffic safety on National Highway 5. At the same time, it will help improve the traffic system of the Port City.
It is expected that in May 2024, the technical traffic opening and the project of different level intersection will be put into use. However, to limit traffic congestion, the Department of Transport of Hai Phong allows cars to pass through the overpass early.
From 5:00 p.m. on April 9, cars are allowed to travel in both directions through the Investment Project to build a different level intersection in An Duong district, Hai Phong city.
The level-separated traffic intersection project was approved by the Hai Phong City People's Committee in Decision No. 2112/QD-UBND dated July 1, 2022 with a total investment of nearly 690 billion VND. The Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned as the investor's representative.
The project includes the following items: Construction of a direct overpass in the direction of National Highway 5 - Nguyen Van Linh with a length of 285 m, width of 19.5 m, and retaining walls for the approach roads at both ends of the bridge with a length of 200 m.
The traffic junction under the bridge by the roundabout has 4 branches of roads connecting both sides of the overpass and roads to the South intersection of Binh Bridge, Ton Duc Thang Street, the connecting road of Ring Road 2 (according to the planning) and Mang Nuoc Street connecting to and from the central road of the roundabout.
Branch roads on both sides of the intersection with cross-sections on each side 9.5 m wide, including 7.5 m wide road surface, 2 m wide sidewalk, then gradually connecting to the existing road .
