Series of art programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day

This is an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Director of the Department of Performing Arts, People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac said: The series of art programs is organized to demonstrate the significance, greatness, and great value of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, completely liberating the South and unifying the country in the history of building and defending the country of our people, contributing to creating an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere of the people towards the day of unification. Comprehensively and deeply evaluate the development achievements of the country in all fields after 50 years of national unification, through 40 years of implementing the renovation process of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and of the whole country.

At the same time, the art programs of the units also aim to preserve and promote fine traditional culture and art, combine tourism development, promote and disseminate traditional Vietnamese art forms to domestic and foreign tourists. Strengthen the great national unity bloc, successfully carry out the country's innovation in the era of national development.

On the nights of bright lights performing art programs of the units, the audience will enjoy many attractive art performances such as: Welcome to Vietnam program organized by Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) on April 16 in Hanoi. This is a program combining art with tourism promotion. In particular, on this occasion, on April 29, at Independence Palace, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet will organize a special art program "Spring of Reunification". This is a major art program assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Theater.

Next, the art program "May with people" of the Vietnam Drama Theater, the audience will enjoy 2 plays with "Rubber sandal wearer" performed on April 27 and May 17; The play "White night" performed on May 18-19-24.

On April 21, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will organize a special concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification with the typical work "The Return of the Happy Day". This is a concert combining historical spirit and the spirit of contemporary cultural exchange. In addition, on April 25, at the Au Co Arts Center (Hanoi), the public will enjoy the national symphony - chamber concert "Song of Victory" organized by the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Dance Theater to honor the spirit of victory and the aspiration for national reunification.

To praise the birth of the Hanoi Party Committee and the children of the capital who joined the resistance war, on April 26 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, Hanoi, the Youth Theater will organize the musical "Fire from the Earth". At Hong Ha Theater, on April 19 and 26, the play "Mother's Love" will be performed by the Vietnam Tuong Theater. And on April 27, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater will organize the music night "Memories of Truong Son".

From March to May 2025, at Kim Ma Theater and on local tours, the Vietnam Cheo Theater will perform classic Cheo plays such as: Quan Am Thi Kinh, Day Trang Hat Dieu Ky, Bac Le Temple. Along with that, the Vietnam Puppetry Theater will perform the work "Khuc dong dau" on April 26 and May 3 in Hanoi; "Am vang dong que" on April 28-29 and May 1 at A Oi Theater - Phu Quoc.

The Viet Bac Folk Music and Dance Theatre will organize the program "Vietnam's Triumphant Resounding Song" with the play "Going Towards the Sun". The program will take place on April 30 in Hue city and tour in April-May 2025 in Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, and Cao Bang.

Not only enjoying the art performances of singing, dancing and music, the public also enjoyed the circus performance combining the image of soldiers, frontier soldiers, and great victories through the special program "Unification Day" organized by the Vietnam Circus Federation. The program was broadcast live on National Defense TV on May 25 and from April 26 to May 4 at the Central Circus.

In particular, with the spirit of theatricalizing the border and improving the cultural life of people in remote areas, from April 18-20, the Vietnam Opera House will organize the program "Border Journey 2025" in Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai.

In addition, not only performing for soldiers and people here, the Cai Luong Theater coordinated with other units to organize activities such as: Presenting Youth projects; Presenting the National Flag; Participating in border patrols; Visiting and giving gifts to households affected by storms and floods and those in difficult circumstances; Inauguration of the "Youth Tree Road" project; Inauguration of the "Electricity and lighting for residential areas" project; Inauguration of the "Concrete Road" Youth project; Visiting some models of activities and production of the youth of Si Ma Cai district.
