This afternoon, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Noi Bai airport, beginning a two-day state visit to Vietnam.

President Luong Cuong went to the airport to welcome General Secretary, President Xi Jinping and his delegation.

A large number of Vietnamese people, Chinese people in Vietnam, and officials and staff of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam held flags of the two countries and banners expressing the traditional friendship between the two countries, warmly welcoming General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and the high-ranking Chinese delegation.

Immediately after the plane arrived in Hanoi, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping made a statement about the visit.

He expressed his joy at his fourth visit to Vietnam. This state visit took place at the invitation of General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong.

"I would like to send warm greetings and best wishes from the Party, State and people of fraternal China to the Party, State and people of Vietnam," Xi Jinping's statement said.

He said that this year Vietnam celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

The Communist Party of Vietnam is leading the Vietnamese people to realize the two centenary goals. The living standards of the Vietnamese people have been constantly improved. Vietnam's position and prestige have been enhanced in the international and regional arenas. Vietnam has also achieved encouraging results in the process of industrialization and modernization.

This year also marks the 75th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the China-Vietnam People's Exchange Year.
