After nearly 80 years of building, fighting and growing, with its heroic tradition, how has the People's Public Security force continued to write its glorious history pages in the new era?

Minister Luong Tam Quang: In the new era, the People's Public Security force has continued to write its glorious history with brilliant achievements, with the efforts and sacrifices of generations of officers and soldiers.

In particular, having a firm grasp of the situation, every year there are thousands of strategic advisory reports, proactively proposing to the Party and State many policies and solutions to maximize national and ethnic interests, minimizing risks and challenges to national construction and protection.

Firmly protect national security early and from afar, consolidate the security belt from outside the territorial borders, in cyberspace and new space; protect the Party, protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; absolutely protect the security and safety of key targets, projects, and important political events of the country; promptly detect and handle factors causing insecurity and disorder, absolutely not being passive or surprised; neutralize all plots and activities of hostile and reactionary forces to infiltrate internally, plant spies, collect State secrets, promote "self-evolution", "self-transformation" leading to self-disintegration and self-collapse from within.

Continuously attack, suppress, and reduce crimes against social order; resolutely fight to eradicate criminal gangs, drug crimes, organized crimes, and black credit crimes. Actively perfect the security and order institutions, enhance the effectiveness of state management of social order, promote administrative reforms to serve the people, build a society of order, discipline, security, safety, and health, constantly consolidate the image of a peaceful and stable Vietnam, which is one of the important resources contributing to the successful implementation of the country's renovation.

On the fierce and arduous front of fighting against crime, protecting security and order, in peacetime, the blood of police officers and soldiers is still shed, hundreds of police officers and soldiers have heroically sacrificed, thousands of comrades have been injured while on duty, contributing to beautifying the glorious heroic tradition of the People's Public Security; building and consolidating the people's trust, love and attachment to the Party, the State and the People's Public Security force.

One heart 'Serving the Fatherland, serving the People'

Could you please tell us about the key tasks of the Public Security in the coming time and the breakthrough tasks that the Ministry of Public Security is striving to carry out?

Minister Luong Tam Quang: There are 5 key tasks for the Public Security in the coming time, which are: Continuing to be exemplary and take the lead in implementing the Party's resolutions, first of all, "reaching the finish line" to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress.

Firmly protect national security; absolutely protect the security and safety of important targets and events, first of all, the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress; do not allow unexpected passiveness in any situation.

Control and reduce crime sustainably; resolutely and persistently fight against corruption and negativity according to functions and tasks; continue to take the lead in digital transformation and administrative reform to serve the people; build communes, districts and provinces with no crime or social evils, where people can live in a secure, safe, orderly and disciplined environment.

Building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force; Party committees and organizations at all levels are united and strong; a contingent of cadres with firm political will, pure revolutionary ethics, firm knowledge of the law, proficient in professional skills, wholeheartedly " Serving the Fatherland, serving the People" , only knowing "As long as the Party exists, we exist" , " Honor is the most sacred and noble thing" .

Mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system, the entire people, and the strength of the times in protecting security and order; turn security and order into a new resource and driving force for development.

Regarding breakthrough tasks, the Resolution of the 7th Central Party Congress of the Public Security for the 2020-2025 term has identified three key tasks of "breakthrough" significance that require focused leadership and direction. These are to build, supplement, and perfect mechanisms, policies, and laws on security and order protection to meet practical requirements, especially new, difficult issues, and non-traditional security challenges; to build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern police force; to strengthen research and application of scientific and technical achievements, advanced and modern technologies in all aspects of public security work. Up to now, 2/3 of the way to implement the Resolution has been passed, many important results have been achieved, and these tasks have basically been successfully carried out.

'Non-stop', 'no rest', 'no forbidden zones, no exceptions'

The fight against corruption and negativity has been a key task of the police force in recent times. In the coming time, how will the Ministry of Public Security continue to implement the fight against corruption and negativity?

Minister Luong Tam Quang: In the coming time, the work of fighting against corruption and negativity will continue to be resolutely and persistently carried out by the Public Security force in accordance with the mottos of "non-stop", "non-stop", "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", "no matter who the person is", "handling one case to alert the whole region and the whole field", ensuring the principles, goals, tasks and solutions set forth and led and directed by the Party, directly by the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Corruption and Negativity.

In addition, it will actively advise on overcoming loopholes and shortcomings in the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws discovered through the investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases, minimizing the causes and conditions that criminals can take advantage of to commit crimes; removing institutional difficulties, contributing to strongly promoting investment, production, business, and socio-economic development.

Focus on doing a good job of advising the Party and State on promoting the combined strength of the entire people, promoting the people's hearts on the basis of the people's security posture, the people's security associated with the people's national defense posture, a solid people's national defense; building a People's Public Security force closely connected with the people, "serving the people and relying on the people to work", "truly loyal, respectful, and loving the people", for the peaceful and happy life of the people.
