Building a strong, professional team of lawyers

Over the years, the team of lawyers of Quang Ninh Bar Association has been constantly developing, striving to fulfill the mission of protecting justice, fairness, democracy, contributing to socio-economic development in the whole province and region.

Lawyer Le Cao Long, Chairman of the Provincial Bar Association, said: Quang Ninh Bar Association currently has 140 member lawyers at 46 law practice organizations. All lawyers have bachelor's degrees in law or equivalent or higher, of which 16 lawyers have postgraduate degrees; 9 lawyers specialize in the field of commerce; 23 lawyers have foreign language qualifications; 55 lawyers are party members... Over nearly 40 years of formation and development, generations of lawyers of the Provincial Bar Association have always complied with legal regulations, contributing to protecting justice, freedoms and democracy of citizens, rights and legitimate interests of individuals, agencies, organizations, socio-economic development, building a socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam, a democratic, fair and civilized society.

Lawyers have participated in defending and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of clients in all criminal, civil, economic, administrative and labor fields. Through their participation in litigation, lawyers have affirmed their professional competence and demonstrated their equality with prosecutors in litigation. Lawyers' participation in litigation has made an important contribution to ensuring the right to defense of suspects and defendants, reducing the situation of wrongful convictions, clarifying objective truths, trying the right person and the right crime, and basically implementing the principles of litigation in court.

The quality of legal consulting services is increasingly improved. In addition to focusing on improving the quality of consulting in traditional fields such as civil, administrative, labor, marriage and family, many lawyers and law firms have chosen to provide specialized consulting in the fields of economics and trade. Although the number of consulting jobs on economics and trade is not high, many lawyers and law firms are interested in, expanding implementation and achieving good results.

Lawyers working in the field of legal consultancy are playing an important role in supporting businesses in negotiating, signing contracts, and resolving legal problems, especially in new areas such as foreign investment, intellectual property rights, and trade disputes involving foreign elements.

According to statistics from law firms, over the past 5 years, more than 100 businesses have regularly used legal consulting services from law firms in the province, with a wide range of consulting areas.

Out-of-court representation activities and other legal services that help individuals and organizations carry out legal procedures such as business establishment, real estate transfer, and immigration... are increasing, opening up many opportunities for people, businesses, and jobs for lawyers to access legal services.

Along with that, legal aid activities for the poor, policy beneficiaries and work contributing to building and disseminating the law are carried out by lawyers. Lawyers provide legal aid according to regulations; actively participate in legal aid in the form of legal advice, participate in litigation organized by the Quang Ninh Provincial State Legal Aid Center; provide legal aid at law practice organizations.

There are currently 12 lawyers signing contracts with the Provincial State Legal Aid Center, and 1 law practice organization registered to participate in legal aid with the Department of Justice under the Law on Legal Aid. Over the past 5 years, law practice organizations have carried out 636 legal aid cases in all 3 areas: consulting, participating in litigation and representing outside litigation. Most of the cases with lawyers participating are effective, ensuring the legitimate interests of the subjects receiving legal aid.

In addition to practicing, lawyers also actively participate in law-making, propaganda, dissemination, legal education and social activities. Social charity activities are also carried out annually by the Provincial Bar Association, with the close coordination between the Executive Committee, the Youth Union of the Provincial Bar Association and the support and active contributions of law practice organizations and lawyers.

International cooperation activities also always receives attention and focus from the Provincial Bar Association. The successful organization of the working session and signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Provincial Bar Association and the Lawyers Association of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) on July 29, 2024 is an event marking the development of the Provincial Bar Association in promoting international cooperation activities. Thereby, contributing to promoting cooperation and developing the legal profession in Quang Ninh province and Guangxi province; at the same time, creating favorable conditions for businesses of both sides to exchange and promote cooperation related to legal issues.
