Talking to reporters, Ms. TT M (residing in Thai Binh City), whose child took the 10th grade entrance exam, shared: After receiving the exam results, her child failed the specialized school. Although her child said that the exam results showed signs of irregularities, the family did not file a request for appeal.

The reason is that this parent's child has enrolled in another school according to his second choice, accepting the loss of the opportunity to study specialized subjects.

The parent said: “My family has a child who registered for the first choice exam for the Literature major at Thai Binh High School for the Gifted. When we received the result of the regular Math exam of 6.25 points, my family was extremely surprised because before that, my child's teacher had graded according to the answer I provided, at least 8 points.

With a score of 6.25 in Math, my child failed to get into a specialized school, with a total score of only 37.6 points. Meanwhile, the standard score for entering grade 10 of Thai Binh High School for the Gifted this year is only 38 points.

Another parent whose child failed the entrance exam to the specialized Math - IT class at Thai Binh High School for the Gifted shared: "My child got 0 points in specialized Math and 7 points in regular Math. I followed the information and saw that many people had their scores re-evaluated. But because my child had enrolled in another school, my family did not re-evaluate to preserve my child's score," the parent added.

Similarly, another parent whose child failed to get into the specialized Math - IT class at Thai Binh Specialized High School said: "My child got 1.5 points in specialized Math and 9 points in general Math. He had a total score of 41.1 in the non-specialized system and was admitted to another public school."

This person also did not want to file a request for review, even though he knew his child did better on the test than the actual passing score.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Principal of Thai Binh High School for the Gifted Nguyen Van Dung said that after receiving the exam results from the review council, the school will receive a list of students whose scores were raised or lowered.

The school will notify eligible candidates to complete admission procedures in accordance with regulations.

As VietNamNet reported, when the results of the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province were announced, many parents, teachers, and candidates were surprised because the scores did not accurately reflect the test results.

When the results of the re-examination of the exam were announced, public opinion continued to be stirred up by the fact that the scores of the subjects were very different from the first graded scores.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province has requested the Provincial Inspectorate to conduct a surprise inspection of the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers assigned to the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in organizing the 10th grade exam.

The People's Committee of Thai Binh province has issued a decision to temporarily suspend the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Viet Hien, from July 31 to serve the inspection of the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam. The suspension period is 15 days.
