Every week, the Social Work Department of Ha Tinh General Hospital organizes the free distribution of 200-300 meals and about 600-700 porridges to inpatients at the hospital.
Behind the delicious meals is a great effort of the hospital's social work team. With spirit, responsibility, love and sympathy for patients, the staff of the Social Work Department never stops connecting and calling for funding from benefactors to share with patients.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang - Head of Social Work Department (Provincial General Hospital) shared: "The meals, porridge or gifts that you have called for and mobilized, although not of great value, are a precious encouragement and motivation for the patients to strive to overcome difficult times. Each patient who is accompanied and supported to recover and leave the hospital healthy is an endless happiness for us."
It is known that from 2024 to present, the Social Work Department of the Provincial General Hospital has awarded over 14,000 free meal coupons. fees and offers over 23,400 Free porridge for inpatients; mobilized more than 1.6 billion VND support treatment costs for patients. In parallel, free support services such as barber shops and wardrobes are regularly deployed.

The Ha Tinh Center for Nursing and Social Protection for People with Meritorious Services (Department of Home Affairs) is currently caring for and nurturing 121 elderly people who have contributed to the revolution, lonely elderly people, and disabled people without caregivers. In particular, there are 30 elderly people who need comprehensive care from eating, living, bathing, etc. All subjects are carefully cared for in terms of eating, health, and spirit, because the staff of the center always have a special love and care for the elderly like family members.

Having been involved in the care and service work at the center for more than 25 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay - Head of the Care and Nurturing Management Department (Ha Tinh Center for Nursing for the Meritorious and Social Protection), shared: “Taking care of the elderly requires putting yourself in the position of the elderly’s children and grandchildren, listening to their feelings and sharing with them. Many elderly people have memory loss, many of them cannot be independent in their daily activities, so it requires more perseverance and tolerance to take the best care of them. Taking care of the elderly and helping them to be happy and healthy is the happiness and honor of those who do social work like us.”
According to Mr. Tran Viet Toi - Director of the Ha Tinh Center for Nursing and Social Protection for the Meritorious, the subjects here, in addition to receiving attentive health care, also receive special mental care. The staff of the center regularly talk, share and organize cultural and artistic activities to encourage and motivate the elderly to live happily and healthily.

In recent times, the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for the Disabled (Department of Health) has always carried out many meaningful activities to support and accompany many vulnerable groups in society, especially in intervening, consulting and supporting those in difficult circumstances, people with disabilities, abused children, abused women, etc.
Since 2024, the center has organized 51 training and communication courses on legal policies, accident prevention, child abuse, violence against women and cyber safety for nearly 16,000 related subjects. Operate a hotline to connect information to support nearly 350 calls for advice on legal policies and regimes for vulnerable subjects. In particular, the center has intervened, advised and assisted 14 abused women and abused children.

Mr. Thai Ngoc Lam - Director of the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for the Disabled emphasized: "As society develops, the need for advice and support from people, especially for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, is increasing. Therefore, accompanying, intervening and supporting these groups is not only a mission but also an honor for those who do social work."

On the occasion of Vietnam Social Work Day (March 25), Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan sent a congratulatory letter to cadres, civil servants, public employees, employees and social work collaborators nationwide. The Minister affirmed that with a proactive and pioneering spirit, the team of social workers nationwide has strived to provide timely assistance to patients and people in difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters, epidemics and care for the lives of the weak and vulnerable. At the same time, the extremely humane and effective contributions of organizations and individuals participating in social work in hospitals, schools, nursing homes for the meritorious, social assistance facilities, reform schools and in the community were acknowledged and commended. With the motto "Vietnam Social Work - Innovation, Connection and Professionalism", Minister Dao Hong Lan believes that the team of social workers will continue to promote achievements, always strive to improve their expertise and professional ethics to serve the Fatherland and the People, effectively implement the social work development program, strongly promote professional social work activities, contribute to ensuring social security and building people's happiness.
