This is an annual activity carried out by the Department of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary and Fisheries of Vinh Long province in coordination with a number of agencies and units.
Mr. Ta Van Thao, Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries of Vinh Long province, said: Since 2010, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Fisheries Industry's Traditional Day, the Department has coordinated with agencies and units to release fish into the natural environment to restore and regenerate aquatic resources.

According to Mr. Thao, every year, in addition to organizing fish releases, the Department also coordinates with agencies, units, and localities to carry out propaganda activities and disseminate legal regulations in the field of aquatic resources protection to organizations, individuals, and communities. At the same time, regular inspections are conducted to promptly detect and handle violations in fishing in the province.
The location for releasing 74,000 fish fry on the morning of March 29, 2025 is the Co Chien River area in An Binh Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province. The total value of 374,000 fish fry (perch, snakehead, catfish, etc.) released is over 211 million VND, most of which is contributed by organizations, individuals, and businesses inside and outside the province.
In 2024, on the occasion of the Traditional Day of the Fisheries Industry, the Department of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries of Vinh Long province released over 363,500 fish fry into Mang Thit River in Tan An Luong Commune (Vung Liem District, Vinh Long) with a total value of over 200 million VND.
