The L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Awards were established to honor outstanding female scientists and promote gender equality in the research field. This is also a way to promote human resources and scientific capacity to address the great challenges of our time.
The annual award brings together outstanding Vietnamese female scientists, whose pioneering research contributes to changing the world through the development of new scientific applications and important research works in areas such as health, food security, environment, and many others.
Female scientists who have inspired the next generation of young female scientists
Since its inception in Vietnam, the award has honored and awarded research scholarships to 38 talented young female scientists from Vietnam, three of whom were awarded the International Promising Young Talent Award in 2015, 2018 and 2022 for their outstanding contributions in the fields of Life Sciences and Materials Sciences.
The program has supported scientists to continue pursuing their passion for science and go further in their research careers, contributing to narrowing the gender gap in science.
