When stopping the battery rental policy, VinFast applies support levels to all vehicles with batteries.

Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's car company said this is an adjustment to suit the actual needs of the market, minimizing monthly energy costs, bringing benefits to customers.

Previously, VinFast deployed a battery leasing model in the early stages of its transformation into a pure electric car company, aiming to reduce customers' initial total payment, creating conditions for customers to easily access and experience electric vehicles.

After more than 3 years of implementation, the battery rental model has been effective, helping customers easily access the product, removing psychological barriers to switching to using electric vehicles.

VinFast explains the reason for stopping the battery rental policy

VinFast believes that with the development of technology and through actual operation time, the battery quality of VinFast cars has been proven.

In addition, VinFast's genuine warranty policy of up to 10 years for both vehicles and batteries, along with attractive incentives such as free battery charging until the end of June 2027, has contributed to increasing the rate of customers buying vehicles with batteries, while the number of customers choosing to rent batteries has decreased sharply.

According to VinFast, customers who own electric cars and motorbikes under the battery rental policy can choose to continue using the current policy, or buy back batteries from VinFast at a preferential price.

VinFast further supports customers who own electric cars with batteries by extending the free battery charging policy for another 6 months, until December 31, 2027.

For electric motorbikes, in the near future, VinFast will deploy a convenient charging box system at stores and authorized dealers nationwide and support customers with free battery charging within one year.

97,399 electric cars sold in 2024

By the end of 2024, VinFast had delivered a total of 97,399 electric cars, 70,977 electric motorbikes and electric bicycles globally. In the Vietnamese market, VinFast has become the car company with the number 1 market share with a fleet of pure electric vehicles covering all segments from mini-SUV to E-SUV, surpassing all foreign gasoline and electric car brands.

In 2025, VinFast aims to at least double the number of vehicles delivered globally compared to 2024.
