To expand and develop the network, the Association has established an additional Vietnam Super Chef Association. Immediately after its establishment in August, the Vietnam Super Chef Association has continuously carried out activities in introducing and performing Vietnamese - European dishes with Vietnamese spices to food businesses such as: Masan, Lee Kum Kee, ABC... At the same time, successfully organized social activities, charity programs, community support; launched meaningful campaigns such as "Giving is Forever", charity program in Long An; supporting the fund for disabled children in Ho Chi Minh City...
In addition to improving internal personnel and operations of offices, departments, and affiliated branches, VCCA members have successfully organized outstanding events over the past year. For example, the Vietnam Restaurant Association successfully organized the ARAA event within the framework of The Restaurant Leadership 2024 event; launching the project "Vietnam, the journey to become the new "Culinary Capital" of the world". The event attracted the participation of leading experts, leaders, managers and representatives of international organizations in the F&B industry, and was an opportunity to introduce, connect and develop the Vietnamese culinary platform in the international arena...
Promoting VCCA's strengths in gathering and utilizing a team of chefs - culinary artists nationwide, VCCA has coordinated with local departments, branches and sectors to advise, co-organize, sponsor expertise and support communication of culinary and tourism cultural events across the country such as: Thanh Culinary Culture Festival 2024; Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival 2024; Nam Dinh Pho Festival 2024; Hue Traditional Culinary Week 2024; "Savory Da Nang" Culinary Festival...
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of VCCA, acknowledged that 2024 marks a special period in the economic, cultural and social context of Vietnam, creating profound impacts on the association's activities. In the context of the global economy continuing to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam has maintained a stable GDP growth rate, while recording strong development of the international tourism industry. This trend brings many opportunities to promote and develop the Vietnamese culinary brand in the international arena.
Seizing opportunities from tourism development, policy changes and international integration, VCCA aims to continue to develop the number of new members, plans to develop official members and guide the establishment of more local Culinary Culture Associations (Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Tay Bac...) in 2025; organize the event "Announcing the journey to find and set a Vietnamese record for the collection of 365 special Vietnamese dishes with fish sauce" and continue to accompany localities to organize many competitions and programs to bring Vietnamese cuisine to the world...
In particular, the President of VCCA and members are devoting a lot of effort to completing the project "Comprehensive collection of Vietnamese cuisine connecting the community" towards "Encyclopedia of Vietnamese cuisine".
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky identified that in the current globalized environment, culinary culture has become an important part in building a national brand and attracting tourists. Vietnamese dishes, with their richness and strong national identity, are increasingly appreciated internationally. The development of the culinary tourism industry has contributed to raising the level of Vietnamese cuisine in the eyes of international friends. Typical dishes such as pho, banh mi, bun cha not only leave an impression on tourists but are also honored on world culinary rankings.
Therefore, VCCA sets the task of building culinary culture capitals, capitals and museums of Vietnamese cuisine, making cuisine a brand when referring to Vietnam.
