Attending FWC 2024, Vietnam's representative, the Logistics Industry Trade Delegation in Panama, chaired and organized by the Vietnam Logistics Services Association (VLA) with 25 delegation members.

Head of the Vietnamese delegation, Mr. Dao Trong Khoa - Chairman of VLA - emphasized that FWC 2024 is an opportunity for Vietnamese logistics enterprises to meet, exchange and seek investment cooperation opportunities with thousands of leading logistics enterprises in the world. In particular, the event held in Panama, which owns one of the two vital canals in the world, is also an interesting learning opportunity for businesses.

However, Panama, like all countries in the world, including Vietnam, is facing challenges of high costs, challenges in multimodal transport, the lack of resilience of global supply chains as well as "shocks" of complex supply chains, etc. This reality leads to some trends such as bringing goods closer to the point, countries having similar policies.

The issue of climate change is also particularly emphasized by businesses. This requires logistics businesses to build a flexible supply chain that is both fast, “economical” and sustainable. Therefore, the 2024 FWC Congress is also a place for businesses and experts to share and find solutions for a sustainable and effective logistics supply chain through discussion sessions and specialized workshops.

According to Mr. Dao Trong Khoa, FWC 2024 is also an opportunity for Vietnam to promote FWC 2025, which will be hosted by VLA in Hanoi in October 2025. “Enterprises and associations have expressed their desire to attend FWC 2025 in Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities in potential markets such as Asia in general and Vietnam in particular. Tourism and our attractive destinations can also attract a large number of participating businesses. FITA and VLA leaders expect the Congress held in Vietnam to set a record in the number of attendees, creating great opportunities for logistics, trade, and import-export connections for Vietnam and the region,” Mr. Dao Trong Khoa emphasized.

Speaking at the scepter receiving ceremony, Mr. Dao Trong Khoa invited delegates to attend FWC 2025 and experience Vietnam's dynamic and rapidly growing economy.

With a forecast of GDP growth of over 6% by 2024 and a strategic location, Vietnam is the “gateway” to the Indo-Pacific region. Even with its particularly important position in the global trade flow, Vietnam is expected to become a logistics and trade center of the region and the world.

has signed, implemented and is negotiating a total of 19 Free Trade Agreements.

With 19 free trade agreements signed, implemented and under negotiation, and import-export growth expected to exceed 15% next year, Vietnam is deeply integrated into the global economy. This trade expansion is supported by Vietnam’s logistics industry, which has more than 45,000 companies playing a vital role in connecting Vietnam to the world.

“At the same time, our commitment to infrastructure development is demonstrated by the success of Cai Mep Port, which is ranked 7th among the world's most efficient container ports by 2023. Vietnam's strong logistics ecosystem complements our position as a leading manufacturing hub, with global giants such as Samsung, LG, Intel and Foxconn choosing Vietnam as their main location of operations,” emphasized the VLA Chairman.

In addition to achievements in the field of logistics, Mr. Dao Trong Khoa also emphasized that Vietnam is the leading country in exporting agricultural products, including "billion-dollar" products such as coffee, seafood, etc.

In particular, introducing other attractive features of Vietnam, the Chairman of VLA shared that Vietnam is also a country with natural beauty, rich culture and unforgettable experiences.

“Whether you marvel at the breathtaking sunrises over Ha Long Bay, one of the natural wonders of the world, or explore the awe-inspiring depths of Son Doong Cave, where the boundaries between heaven and earth seem to blur, you will find that Vietnam offers an unparalleled experience. Our vibrant cities are full of energy, culture and history. Take time to explore the capital city of Hanoi, a city of a thousand years of civilization, where you can enjoy our world-famous cuisine, such as “bun cha”, which has hosted world icons such as Donald Trump and Joe Biden, a reminder of the warmth and openness with which we welcome the world”, emphasized the President of VLA.

With the theme “green and resilient logistics”, FWC 2025 will be held from 6-10 October 2025 with important discussions on the future of logistics in a world increasingly aware of its environmental responsibility.

“Sustainability is a core priority for Vietnam. Our commitment to a net zero future was reflected in our COP26 pledge, and we are continuing our efforts to build an economy that is both green and sustainable. This is fully aligned with the theme of the FWC 2025 Congress, as we strive to move the logistics industry towards a more sustainable and responsible future.

“Vietnam is not only a destination for logistics businesses, it is a place where opportunities flourish, cultures connect and a brighter, more sustainable future is built,” the VLA Chairman emphasized. At the same time, he expressed his desire to welcome businesses and experts from the logistics industry around the world to Hanoi.

FWC 2025 was bid by VLA to host since 2017. After many efforts and disruptions due to Covid-19, in 2022, VLA officially won the right to host FWC 2025 at FWC 2022 held in Korea. After winning this honor, VLA quickly worked with relevant ministries, branches and agencies to urgently prepare for the organization of the congress.

The organization of FWC 2025 has received attention and support from the Government and local ministries. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received delegations from the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and VLA at the Government headquarters twice in 2023 and 2024, and affirmed the strong support of the Vietnamese Government for the FWC 2025 event.

Leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, and many other ministries, sectors and localities also met with leaders of FIATA and VLA to express their support for the successful and effective organization of the event in Hanoi.
